Four° Twenty’ South is named for the latitude – it is almost exactly 4 degrees and 20 minutes south of the equator – as there were no landmarks in the forest which covered the area in the 1960s when the property was bought from Charlie May by Ken & Margaret Martin. Now, still owned and run by the Martin family, Ken & Margaret’s daughter Hilary, Four° Twenty’ South offers an authentic escape to a place where time is measured by the tides. The six houses, of varying sizes, screened from each other by foliage are set in a tropical garden which runs down to the Indian Ocean and a stunning powder white beach. Each is staffed with your own chef and maid and provides the privacy of your own home in which your timetable is entirely your own. Two of our chefs are Cordon Bleu trained and fresh seafood and seasonal fruit and vegetables are brought to the door every day.
